The Pokémon GO Park event is a special event happening in Yokohama, Japan during the Pikachu Outbreak cultural phenomena.

The event lasts from August 9 to August 15, features Johto and Kanto thematic locations and Mr. Mime, the European regional exclusive. In 2017, shiny variants of the entire Pikachu family were released during the Pokémon GO Park event as an event exclusive encounter.

The Park event is organized during the annual Pikachu Outbreak, so all rules and regulations apply for visitors. Be polite, respectful and remember that Japan has a strict culture in regards to live events and big groups in parks. Remember to visit Tokyo while you’re in Japan, we have a wonderful travel guide for Pokémon GO players: A Tourist’s Guide to Pokémon Go in Tokyo.

Pokémon GO Park Questions and Answers

Will there be additional regional Pokémon during the Park event? Nothing is officially announced, except for Mr. Mime. Usually, events like these feature only one regional exclusive: Heracross @ GO Fest, Kangaskhan @ Safari Zones in Europe. We don’t expect more than one regional specie.

Do the Unowns captured at the Pokémon GO Park event form a special sentence? No, not really. Which is really unfortunate, especially after Unown spelled CHICAGO on GO Fest and EUROPE during the Safari Zones.
