ROCK - TECTITAN

Tectitan Rock boss (full rock team POV)

  • There are 4 phases of monster groups before the boss actually comes up. Mixed group of rock monsters at first I feel it's always better to just use the strongest team you have through the beginning phases of any LT boss (before the boss actually shows up). Be mindful of the shields and reflects. For shields, just use burn moves (quick move to get rid of bad gems) until the shield is removed, then unload. For reflect, do the same. NEVER HIT WHILE REFLECT IS UP!

  • At around 52% or so it's the final boss, Tectitan… This boss is one of the hardest ones you can face, and worst if he's the 4th or 5th boss you face before Pande. You will most likely need a full wind team (or close to) to get any decent hits in, at least if you don't start off with a great board right away.

  • As a 1st-3rd Lost Temple boss, Tectitan is a lot easier as he only casts shield between moves. So you burn gems to get rid of shield and just hit him down between them. The difference here too is that rock hits will also make his ability bar go up unlike later as a 4th and 5th boss of Lost Temple where it does not effect him this way. You can watch a video of Tectician as 1st-3rd Lost Temple boss here: http://youtu.be/FwiGeOFOCGA

  • As a 4th-5th boss in Lost Temple he gets much harder and has a much larger set of moves. Some of those moves include; Invincible, Stun and Burst. He will stun on the move right before swap and invincible, no matter if his ability bar is full or not. So if his ability bar is not lowered enough to be able to burn a quick move to remove stun, it will top off after stun is removed and he will either cast invincible or burst. You have to make sure his ability bar is lowered significantly by the time he casts stun.

(Towards the end of his life, he has a debuff on him that reduces the amount of damage he takes. Not sure if it happens only once or twice (stacks) during his life. If someone can confirm the percentage this starts and by how much, please let me know.)

  • A good strat (which you can see in the video to the left), is to do three quick moves in the beginning (to get rid of unwanted gems). Then use a monster with ROCK CRUSH! This will stun him for three moves so he does not use invincible or stun for the rest of the fight. You can keep him stunned for the remainder of the fight too!

  • HE IS SOMETIMES KNOWN TO STUN ON THE 3RD MOVE WHEN HE'S ENGAGED AS 5TH CYRSTAL! If this is the case, go ahead and use wind moves until stun happens. When he stuns, burn a move (swap gems without actually doing a combo) to quickly remove the stun. Here is a quick video strat of how I did this: http://youtu.be/eltrZW3pi2w

  • ***Some tips: Make sure auto cast is removed because of the stun. Don't want to have autocasts taking up time between moves, allowing the ability bar to fill up (as the bar fills up over time).
